GradeSense users can request deletion of their account and associated data at any time. This page explains how to submit a request and what data is deleted or retained.

How to request account deletion

Send an email to ayush@gradesense.in from the email address connected to your GradeSense account with the subject line "Delete my GradeSense account".

Please include the following details so we can verify and process your request:

Your full name
The email address used to sign in to GradeSense
Your school, institution, or organisation name, if applicable
Whether you want your full account deleted or only specific uploaded data removed

What data is deleted

When an account deletion request is verified, we delete or de-identify account data associated with the requesting user, including:

Account profile information such as name, email address, and sign-in identifiers
Uploaded scan sessions and answer-sheet files owned by the account
Exam setup data, student submissions, grading outputs, and teacher feedback linked to the account
Usage records that are no longer needed to provide, secure, or audit the service

Data we may retain

Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, dispute-resolution, institutional recordkeeping, or backup purposes. Where possible, retained records are minimized, de-identified, or restricted to the purpose that requires retention.

If GradeSense is provided through a school, coaching institute, university, or other organisation, some academic records may also be controlled by that organisation. In those cases, we may need to coordinate the request with the relevant administrator before deletion.

Processing timeline

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 7 days and complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law, security review, or institutional administration.

Partial data deletion

You may also request deletion of specific uploaded scan sessions, exam files, or related grading data without deleting your entire account. Email ayush@gradesense.in with details of the data you want removed.
